I have been sick for a while, so I haven’t posted anything… As if anyone looks at my page ANYWAY!!! But despite that, I will say that I just want to throw some things out there that I have been contemplating since I have been stuck in my room… Some of the points of views I previously held are not the same. I do now fervently believe that Todd Bentley is a complete fake, and a horrible one at that. I wont get into it, its just a joke and makes sincere Christians look like jerks too! STOP defacing the Christian community already people!!!!

I want to throw these things out on the net that I have been thinking because most of them are coming to pass, and I would like to hypothesize on where I see things going. Granted, none of this is from God, it is just reasonable deduction. I do not in the least pretend to be a prophet or have secret knowledge, and due to my illness (which is from exhaustion because of overwork, a lack of sleep and food) I prolly wont get to much into the Bible here. But I plan on doing better on that in the future, which is WHY I preface this as reasoable deduction and not from God. Besides, you can hear God just fine for yourself by reading his word and snd praying, which I very strongly encourage if you don’t do these things and claim to be a Christian.

So, last summer I read 1984, and the funnt thing is I see the world headed directly in this direction. Not to mention that everything is lining up with the prophecies in Revelation… Its just interesting to watch things. About 3 months ago I got very depressed because I saw us coming to the place of a one world government, one world currency and such. I got very depressed indeed, I felt that with the current economic crisis, that most countries, except maybe China and Russia would force a one-world currency to stabalize the economy and prevent any sort of future economic crash from happening again. This is also would directly lead into a one-world government. Why you say? Because in order for a one-world currency to really work there must be a system in place that controls and governs the flow of the money, and since I predict that within the next 20-30yrs (if that) we will see the abolishment of paper money, it will be even easier. See article about China Proposing a One WOrld Currency . It is easy to see that soon even cards will be obsolute. With the innovations of the Radio Frequency Identification why do you need to carry id, when all you’ll need is to be scanned? Of course, right now the chips are usually only used to track animals and for elderly people, but there is no reason to believe that within th next 50yrs or so the government will enforce everyone to have one of these “tracking” and identity devices. Stating of course it will be for safety reasons, like if you get lost on the forest they could track you because of the chip install into your hand or wherever. Why wouldn’t the government do this? Is it really a conspiracy theory? Or would the government enforce such laws for our “safety”? My answer is a resounding YES!!!!

It starts with the government wanting to cover their asses or coorporate companies want their’s covered so that can’t get sued anymore, such would see to be with such bills like that following on food that are in the beginning stages right now of going through congress and legislation: HR 875 Bill for restriction of how food is grown and distributed Second Bill . Our forefathers could not foresee all the things that would become of this country, but they tried to protect us from many of the very things that are going on right now. Because of the selfishness and greed in the United States, and the world, but particularly in the states, rather than become out and out facist, the United States government has taken a more subtl approach, which I doubt they even realized what they were doing. Most of the restricting laws in the past had to do with moral behavior such as restriction of anal sex, homosexual acts, adulter, ect. But now, those things are considered to be “rights” as a human being, and because government refuses to provide a moral compass we get laws that restrict people’s real freedoms such as possibly the ability to remain anonymous or plant a garden in your own backyard.

Now, if this bill on the restrictions on food are not passed now, it will be passed later, mark my word it will. Why? Because government wants to make sure that can’t be blamed for the corrent health issues with mass-produced food. Now, this bill wants to regulate any foreign food coming in as well, which of course could usher in a sort of global standard for food and controlling what people eat. This is a bit of wild conjecture, but IF the government over time does this locally, and eventually globally, it would enable the government to administer anything they want into our food because they will be in total controll of it. If we can’t have a garden in our own back yard without meeting special regulations, most of us are going to throw up our hands and eat what is okayed by the government, which will probably be a way for them to secure future revenues. If they are partnering with cooperate food companies than eventually the government will controll those conpanies is my guess and almost all profits will go straight to the government. Since, there is also threat of famine the government, if these bills don’t pass could also use the excuse of helping regulate the food so no one starves or die… haha Next after this would of course be the government controlling what types of foods we eat, like luxury foods being “rationed” or not given at all, much like in 1984. If we are kept hungy or at the beck and call of the government for our food it will be very hard indeed to fight them. If also, as they will eventually, take away our firearms by force, how will we fight back as our forefathers wanted to when there was a corrupt government?

I will give the United States government this, they are really corrupt, not most of them, but they have bought into subtle lies that is slowly leading us from freedom to enslavement. The questions is this. Are we going to idly sit back and let this happen? And when the laws are passed, will we follow laws that so blatantly violate our rights as human beings? I wont, and I will stand as much in the way as I can. Former generations protested war, but that was fruitless. I don’t have a problem with war, but I have a problem with government violating our rights, we are not a democracy, we are a republic. I will close, but I recommend reading what a Republic is Here because it will help you see how the government has gotten where it has and where it is going…

On another note, I have also observed this has happened in the world of music if you want to be signed to a record company nowadays you must look, sound, dress, a certain way, be a certain skin color. Not that in terms of the “music busniess” ever had anything to do with produces quality music, it has to do with producing music that makes money. Unfortunately music that actually had meaning to it rarely sales because in reality most people don’t want to think. Never since the 1960′s has there really been a lot of freedom in music or freedom of exploration in music or openness. I believe, since I am a musician, that music has a direct link the where we are now. I will not here go into an exhasutive history, but music has effected so much of the past and present generations it would be foolish to minimize its effects, and in a way it could be very beneficial if the government controlled who rose to prominence or fell in music. In time muc like in 1984, we may not even be able to say for sure what day or year it is, it may all just blend together into a mish mash because the government has strategically erased the past and convinced us that what we see now is the truth. This sounds far-fetched, but is it really?

God Bless ~Amy

Having spent a lot of time writing on theology and the Bible, I have spent the last few post focusing on music and politics respectively.

I will share with you a dream that I had two days ago in regards to the elections…

I was viewing all of these things from the first person and could not see my body, which is unusual for my dreams.

So, I was watching television and it was election day. I was watching a news channel and they were going through the states where the votes had been counted thus far and they were showing a map of the United States. They were going over who had won which states, and they began circling all of the key states in which John McCain had won the electoral votes for. However, I did not actually find out whether or not McCain or Obama won.

I do not feel like there is an interpretation to this dream. I will have to wait and see whether or not this dream was just a stupid dream or whether or not it had any bearing on reality. I guess we shall see.

Admittedly I am only 23yrs, but I grew up in a house where discussion illegal immigration, billingual education, and abortion were normal at the age of 11yrs. So politics and voting are old hat to me. I did not get to vote for Bush the first time he ran, but I would have. I voted for him the second time as well. This has nothing to do with the fact that I am a Christian. I do not care if someone is Republican or Democrat, I only care if they are sincere and are somewhat honest. Of course I prefer someone to have views like my own, but in this day and age, that is almost impossible. Especially in an age where Christians are almost cinsidered the scum of the earth in most people’s view, and yet most people still call us a Christian nation.

I did vote for McCain. Not because he is Republican either. Back in July last year when the they held the irst YouTube political debate, I began looking up the candidates. At that time I became fairly certain either Hilary or Obama would get the party nomination for Democrats. Although, I was almost certain it would be Obama so I dedicated quite a lot of time to studying him. I watched his speech on politics and religion, and I found him to be an extremely charismatic person. Oddly enough, part of the reason I had a hard time with Obama was because of his wife who came across as controlling and bitchy. I disagreed on some of his stands on issues like abortion, as I am definitely pro-life. However, in the end, I just did not feel like I could trust Obama because he never seemed to give straight answers and appeared to feed people what they wanted to hear in an attempt to win votes. I actually wanted to like him and agree with him, but in the end, I couldn’t get past the feeling that I was listening to a used car salesman who was trying to sell me a broken down car that he was advertising as a brand new luxury vehicle.

Yes, Bush could have done a hell of a lot better, but I do not blame the ENTIRE Republican perty for the mistakes of a few people. Democrats are not perfect either and yet it seems everywhere I look that people paint it that way. Or at least that getting rid of Republicans will solve all of our problems. The problem is not the party, but the weak people in the party. Well, now I feel like I am talking about the Party in George Owell’s classic “1984″. Not because it relates to this election, just because my mind made a silly connection. However, speaking of “The Party”. I feel most people just need to let go of perceptions about parties, and although they try to represent a particular sect of views, we should not vote on someone based on their party, but based on their character, honesty, and stance important issues and their ability to answer their stance on questions on those issues honestly.

No one can predict whether McCain would go and start random wars (I doubt he would), die, or put us into a worse national deficit. Nor can anyone say that Obama will get us out of the war, cut taxes, and save us from another great depression. We cannot know for certain until that person is in office unfortunately. As long as we look at their character and experience I feel we get a better picture of how they will do in office than what they say on the issues themselves. I have a hard time trusting a young man who may or may not pick the advisors he needs to make the right choices. And although Palin is young, she wont pick the advisors and even if John McCain dies, he is smart enough and experienced enough to have left her with a very capable staff to help her. It is more about the people behind you than the figurehead, the president.

God Bless ~Amy

Again, I feel this goes back to the very thing I have been writing about in my blog. It is fine to disagree with Katy Perry’s lyrics, but as a church to post something like that on your bulletin board definitely comes off as judgemental. We are here to build up encourage and edify, not alienate.

Oddly enough, I had been wondering whatever happened to Katy Hudson just a few months ago, and what would you know, I stumble across a website talking about how Katy Hudson is actually Katy Perry. WHAT???? Once I read this I finally connected the dots…

I was at Warped Tour this Summer with one of my friends, now Katy Perry was there, but I was busy watching protest the hero with a friend while Katy Perry was playing. As much as I wanted to see Katy Perry, I’d rather stick with my friend and watch one of her favorite bands, and anyway, it was very enjoyable, and ended up being my first mosh pit.

Later on towards the end of the night, Katy Perry was signing autographs and I was tempted to get in line to have something signed. Mainly because I just wanted to talk to her. When I went over to her tent, I walked through the line, it was a pretty long one, and I decided not to get anything signed, but just catch a peek of her. When I stopped at the corner of her tent, she had sunglasses on, but she took them off and glanced over at me. She looked at me, not once, but twice, almost nerveous or fearful, and put the sunglasses back on . I thought the was really odd, but thought nothing of it except, I kept coming back to her tent and never once again did she take the sunglasses off. There was something I sensed about her, something very sweet. I felt like she could be a Christian, but yet I knew she wasn’t… I took her picture, but without being able to see her eyes it was pretty lame. She looked very sincere and I could tell that she had a good heart and would become something huge, and could potentially do great things for the Lord.

Flash forward a month later and I find out that she came from a Christian family and recorded a Christian album under her surname Hudson. Which made me realise that that look she gave me was more than coencidence. I do not like to read into things, but she definitely had an uneasy look when she looked at me, and not once again did she take her sunglasses off. Maybe I am overreaching, maybe I’m not. But I get the feeling that Katy Perry is just like anyone who has been disillusioned by judgemental Christians – fed up with mainstream Christianity and left it in the dust infavor of her own ideas.

Its easy to do, I have come across a lot of Christians who are ready to throw the words “heretic”, “blasphemy”, “demonic”, ect. around because they feel they are more Holy than some other people, therefor they feel free to tell you how much your theology is f-ed up and how you are decieving the masses. Honestly, if I hadn’t already established my faith in the Lord I would have left Christinity years ago. Because Christians are flawed, and when people forget that and focus on people’s flaws rather than Jesus, it is easy to walk away from the faith, especially if it was shakey to begin with.

This is why I believe it is imperative for us to not only live out the example Jesus sets for us to non-Christians in Luke 10:25-37:

”25On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

26“What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”

27He answered: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[c]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d]“

28“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

29But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

30In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two silver coins[e] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

36“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

This does not mean that we have to accept their sin and say that is alright, but we have to love them. If we do not show them unconditional love first, then why would they even want to consider Jesus? Especially if like like most Americans they believe all Christians are judgemental towards non-Christians and just go around condemning them to hell?

On top up that, as Christians we have a responsibility to let others know we are Christians by our love for eachother, not our judgemental attitudes…

First Jesus shows us how he loves us… John 13:1-17

“1It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.[a]

2The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus. 3Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

6He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

7Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

8“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

9“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”

10Jesus answered, “A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” 11For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.

12When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13“You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”

Then he goes on to explain that we need to love eachother the same way that he loves us (after revealing Judas as the traitor)… John 13:31-37:

”31When he was gone, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him. 32If God is glorified in him,[c] God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.

33“My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.

34“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

36Simon Peter asked him, “Lord, where are you going?”
Jesus replied, “Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later.”

37Peter asked, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

38Then Jesus answered, “Will you really lay down your life for me? I tell you the truth, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!”

I will not go into detail here about love because I already did that in a previous post titled “Damned if you do, Damned if you don’t.”

Basically, I have no way of knowing for sure what happened to Katy Perry, but I have a pretty good hunch that she is afraid of judgement, and she knew I was a Christian and feared I would judge her… Even though I didn’t know she had been a Christian at the time, I could sense it, so I do not doubt she could sense the same thing from me.

So, I have been encouraged to pray for her. I pray that she will see that Christianity is not about judgement, but a relationship with Jesus Christ, and that it is the most beautiful and glorious thing in the world. That is all I can do, and that is the best thing to do, so we will see where Katy goes from here. I will be cheering her on all the way, even if I do not accept everything she does; I accept her.

       God Bless ~Amy

I have become increasingly frustrated because I merely want to discuss things with people, but then they tell me how wrong I am. I try to explain things, but then they tell me I am criticize them the very way I accuse them of doing. It makes me feel very small and without a leg to stand on. Like no matter what I say, I will have a distorted theology and wrong views. Maybe this is not what these people are saying, I am really trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, it is so hard to tell in writing letters. Either way I am frustrated because I just want to talk and not hurl insults or views back and forth. Why can’t someone show me what they want to say in scriptures? I try to do that, and of course, if I don’t use the write translation I get bashed… Mainly using the message, yes, the message is a paraphrase, everybody knows that, so go look up the same verses in another Bible if it is troublesome to you.

I do not want to criticize anyone, and I am not interested in condemning peope because their theology is a little off. I have met a number of people in my day that have theology that is way off, but who am I to say they are going to hell? If we are attacking someone’s theology and saying they are going to hell, is that not attacking their character? Because God looks t the heart and not the outward appearance.

Samuel 16:1-13 “1 Now the LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”
2 And Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me.”
But the LORD said, “Take a heifer with you, and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.’ 3 Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; you shall anoint for Me the one I name to you.”
4 So Samuel did what the LORD said, and went to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, “Do you come peaceably?”
5 And he said, “Peaceably; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons, and invited them to the sacrifice.
6 So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the LORD’s anointed is before Him!”
7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees;[a] for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
8 So Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, “Neither has the LORD chosen this one.” 9 Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, “Neither has the LORD chosen this one.” 10 Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The LORD has not chosen these.” 11 And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.”
And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down[b] till he comes here.” 12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!” 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.”

In the end if we are pitting Christian against Christian telling eachother how wrong the other is, are we living the greatest commandment?

Luke 10:25-37 “25On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

28“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

So, in order to inherit eternal life we must love God and our neighbors just as we love the Lord. An interesting concept about love, in regards to God is seen in John 14:15-31

“ 15“If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”

22Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”

23Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

25“All this I have spoken while still with you. 26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

28“You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 30I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, 31but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me.
”Come now; let us leave.”

So, if we love God we do obey Him and one of those commandments is to “Love Your neighrbor as Yourself.”

I have been accused of lacking an understanding of what love is. But as in an earlier post, I have shown that love sometimes means that God allows us to suffer because he is our father and suffering produces the fruit of righteousness (Hebrews 12:1-13). However, there is also Jesus our brother, and the Holy spirit our friend. So, while we are suffering, we are still comforted, we are not abandoned, and we are not condemned.

I do not believe that many of the people, including myself, can convey the love they feel over the internet for their Christian brethren. To me, as long as you believe that Jesus is the only way to God, and you are pursuing God wholeheartedly by reading the Bible everyday and seeking his will as defined in the word, than I do not think I can question your salvation, that is between you and God. If you honestly tell me that you believe that the trinity is not the trinity in the way it is described in the Bible, meaning the father, son, and spirit, separate, but the same, but are still seeking God whole-heartedly, wil you not come to the conclusion eventually? I may try to correct you, but if you believe you are equally right to me, believe that the Fath, Son, and Spirit are one but three, we will just end up in a circular argument. My best bet, if I am certain you don’t line up with scripture, is to pray for you.

I suppose when I die, and I am at the judgement seat of Christ, we will see if I am as f-ed up as some believe I am.

I know what the Bible says fairly well, and I do my best to not take it out of context. If there is one place or even ten places I am wrong out of the entire Bible, is it really that bad in the grand scheme of things? God will correct me in time, if I am really off because I do not seek my will, but His will. I have done enough arguing about whether or not tongues is real, and been called demon-posessed for believing in it, to know that when two people with differing views try to convince the other they are wrong, NOTHING gets done. I am so done with that.

If we just seek what the whole word of God says, and do not take it and use it merely for our own agenda to prove our own right or wrongness, than we will be doing a lot better than most of the world.

        God Bless ~Amy

Growing up, as long as I can remember, music has been a huge part of my life. My mother always played 1960′s pop music like the Temptations, the Drifters, the Shirelles, the Mamas and the Papas, the Beach boys, ect. Why my father was always on the rock side playing for me at a very early age, bands like “Spirit”, not one of the most prolific 1960′s band, their only real hit was “Nature’s Way” which could have been an early call to realize that global warming is on the horizon. This was all before the age of ten. Although my father went to Life Bible College and was an ordained minister, and I was raised in the church, my father exposed me to a lot of non-Christian music. In fact the only Christian music I heard besides the stuff played in church and Amy Grant was when my mom used to play Randy Stonehill and Honey Tree.

Two of my brothers were also musicians. My oldest brother wrote his own songs and was a very talented singer/songwriter. He even wrote the songs for his wedding. My second oldest brother is still playing music and has recorded about five albums on his own and with various bands. Needless to say, I have always been surrounded by music.

From my sister who is seven years older than me I got the punk influence from bands like “The Misfits”, “The Dead Kennedies”, “Total Chaos”, and “Rancid”. I also fondly remember a no-name ska band called “Punch the Clown”. From my second oldest brother, I raided his CD collection and listened to the Smashing Pumkins, Oasis, Radiohead, the Beastie Boys, Jennifer Knapp(I didn’t even know she was Christian artist at the time), and God knows how many other random bands.

It wasn’t until I was just about thirteen that I discovered the first band that I ever fell in love with apart from my family and that was Hanson. I did not know who they were, but I saw there picture, thought they were girls, and couldn’t forget the faces. Later I found out they were boys, and that they played music. Needless to say, once I listened to their music, I was hooked!!!

Not having an allowance of more than $2 a week, and not having cable until the age of sixteen, I rarely got to listen to knew music except over the radio. My close friend at the time introduced me to Spice Girls and No Doubt who my sister said were grabage. Which actually caused me to scrape up my No Doubt CD, which later my sister asked why… haha Anyway, fell in love with the Spice Girls and Hanson and they were the only CD’s I owned until I discovered Limp Bizkit, I instantly fell in love with their rendition of faith and I played their first album just as much as I played “Spice” and “Middle of Nowhere”.

I continued to search out music and I rarely left the confines of pop music because again, this was before the internet was a really big thing and YouTube was nowhere near existence and Napster did not come into prominence until 2yrs later. I was obsessed with Hanson pretty much until I stopped listening to secular music back in 2005. It was only then that I let go of them, I listen to them from time to time to reminise, but that is about it. I had two different websites made about Hanson. the last entitled “Hanson Live and Exposed” which is still up haha…. http://www.angelfire.com/ok/hanson126/

Pretty much after I discovered Hanson, I became extremely obsessed with music, and writing it. I always wrote music, but suddenly it became my life’s goal (which hasn’t changed) to become a successful singer/songwriter. I felt alive when I listened to music it made me happy. I don’t think even my close friend understood it. She liked music and singing and dancing, but I breathed it!!! I began to drive her nuts because even up until the end of our friendship my favorite thing to do was record myself singing with the video camera or make “music videos” with her. It grew old for her after a while, but it never grew old to me… I still do it to this day.

In 1998, I listened to all of the popular bands like Savage Garden, Third Eye Blind, The Wallflowers, Spice Girls, Hanson, Marcy’s Playground, The Offspring, Metallica, The Beastie Boys, Natalie Merchant, Jewel, Will Smith, Smash Mouth, TLC, Natalie Imbruglia, Cherrie Poppin’ Daddies, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Backstreet Boys, and many many other bands.

Well, the next few years were nothing special musically for me, just the discovery of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, which was awesome. Then of course there was Mandy Moore, whom I still adore, and also Jessica Simpson, whom I do not adore anymore… Than of course Destiny’s Child made it huge in 1999 as well, or closer to 2000 with “Say My Name”. I mostly just kept listening to people like Britney Spears and that was it. I found NSYNC to be boring and thougt Backstreet Boys were much better, and I still do. Than of course the other side of the coin for me was Kid Rock and Eminem. I was devout followers of them when they came out with their major label debuts in 1999. Who can forget Blink 182′s “What’s My Name Again” or Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca”? 1999 was also the year that Jennifer Lopez became really big, with her first album “On the 6″. You see by 1999, I had a paper route and could actually afford CD’s, and I had quite a collection by the end of 1999.

Anyway, that’s enough ranting about music for now, I’ll get to the more exciting stuff next time!!!

       God Bless ~Amy

As I have stated in my page description, I love engaging in theological debates, I do however not like arguments where the other person will not attempt to understand me and just insist that I am dumb and wrong. Anyway, this has prompted me to examine love as described in the Bible and what is loving and what is especially in terms of discipline in the church.

One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:11-12:

”1 My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline
and do not resent his rebuke,

12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father [a] the son he delights in.”

There is a particular application of this verse in Hebrews 12:1-13

”Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

4In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
”My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”[a]

7Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

12Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13“Make level paths for your feet,”[b] so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.”

God disciplines those whom he loves… In this case Paul saw suffering for Christ as discipline. It is true, in my life I have suffered a lot physically, and so have most of the people I know who love the Lord. I have heard people argue “How can a loving God allow people to suffer?” The answer is right here in Hebrews 12:11, and it is cold comfort at times:

“11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. “

So, if we do love some one, sometimes, we have to allow them to suffer. At the same time, God is also very gracious and does not allow us to suffer as much as we deserve. I have found that in some Christians there is little grace and a lot of “judging” going on. They seem to want to see others suffer for what they percieve as “Heresy” and decieving the masses to run away from the leading of the spirit. Am I implying that we allow others to go along their merry wa without ever telling them if they are doing something wrong? Absolutely not, but you had better check your motivation.

So, what els does the Bible have to say about love? See Corinthians 13:

“ 1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

Ths chapter describes exactly how love operates, and this is exactly the way God operates, it is seen throughout the entire Bible. God was continually gracious with Israel, he even warned them ahead of time before they entered the promised land that they would turn way from God, and they did eventually turn away from God.

I fully believe that God will at times publically expose people, but I do believe that is usually a last ditch resort. God always warns people, just like he warned Israel, before they fall. God does not wish to see us fall, but when we do, it usually involves public humiliation if we are in a public ministry because that goes with the territory. There are people who have erroneous belief’s and need to rectify them, but am I the one to tell them that? No. Because first, I it would not be a loving act for me to broadcast it to the entire world when I am going off of assumptions anyway. If I really believe a person is headed in the wrong direction then I should contact them personally and not make it a public affair. When and if God wants to expose him he will, and he may use a person to do that, but as Christians we have a responsibility to not bite at eachother all the time.

I am not saying we cannot correct eachother, but if you do correct someone it is best to do it privately and if they do not change then that is up to them.

Now as for churches, it is important for churches to be more adament about exercizing authority and making sure that if there are people who are truly unrepentent and unwilling to change that they do leave the church or have some form of discipline as this is what Paul spoke about in his first letter to the Corinthians. That, however, is the churches job and not ours. We can, if we are concerned about someone’s conduct, bring it up to the church, and that is probably a good idea.

It reminds me of when I first started Bible college. My school has a dress code which states that women are not to wear revealing tops, pants, ect. However, most of the women, and men, have a blatant disregard for this dress code and continually wear things that are low-cut and pants that show their cracks, and I have heard them say themselves that they are aware of it. This concerned me a great deal, and I was uncertain of what to do so I went to speak to the Student Life Director and he told me the best thing is to talk to my friends personally about it. It made me feel a bit helpless actually because the women there just did not understand what it meant to be modest and what they really needed was the guidance of the faculty not the opinion of a peer.

As brothers and sisters we need to warn one another when we are in unbiblical or ungodly conduct, but we cannot make them change so we need to be in prayer that they change rather than continuing to berate them with comments on how they need to “get right with the Lord.” Ultimately, since God does love us, he will allow us to choose the wrong path and allow us to fall.

Anyway, that is all I have energy to write now. I apologise if there is not as many scripture references as my last post, and I will attempt to rectify that. In the end it is irrelavent what I say if it does not line up with the whole word of God.

          God Bless ~Amy

I first heard about the Jonas Brothers a bit over two years ago before anyone really knew who they were. They were tiny and they were bouncing around in this video and it was called “The Year 3000″. I did not think much about it, but I did not forget the group and I wondered who they were. It was not until over a year later that I really found out who they were.

Since I became more aware of them I have heard them compared to one of my all time favorite bands Hanson. It is true that when the Jonas Brothers started they were about the same age as Hanson was when they made it big. However, I just want to clear something up, there is a major difference between The Jonas Brothers and Hanson. Hanson wrote pop songs, but they did not aspire to be a pop band. That is why they eventually fell off the radar even though they are still recording and selling out shows. Many of their songs had a deeper meaning then the songs the Jonas Brothers write. “Mmmbop” was about true friends and not letting go of those real friends, but it was done in such a cute and clever way no one really knew what it meant. Not many bands at that age make such amazing observations and the Jonas Brothers do not make such observations. Hanson did write a lot of love songs, but most of them were very clever and Taylor Hanson is one of the most charismatic singers out there. There is really no comparison.

Anyway, the Jonas Brothers write descent pop songs, but they never really rise above the mundane typical teen themes nor do they do it in a creative way as Hanson did. The Jonas Brothers are extremely talented, but lyrically they are still very weak, and they mainly play to their audience, which is not a bad thing, it just makes it harder for them to grow up. Hanson took a risk by choosing to grow up, and “This Time Around” was not as welll recieved by people in general as “Middle of Nowhere”. That is because there was not a track like “Mmmbop”, but songs like “Save Me” are on the same level of quality as “Mmmbop”. Hanson gave up hooks for maturity, and some ways it worked and in other ways it did not, but at least they took the risk, even if they became a bit jaded in the process.

I do believe the Jonas Brothers can become a great band if they want to be, they just need to expand thei lyrical horizans and break away from the conventions of pop musical, gradually. There is no reason they cannot write pop songs that have a deeper meaning, and that is what I will be hoping for. They have the talent and no they just need to channel it into something besides women. Their enthusiasm is contagious and it is easy to see why they are popular, they love what they do and they are very pure, which is always attractive.

My prayer for the Jonas Brothers is that they have more committment to Jesus Christ then celebrities that have chose to wait until marriage to have sex. Evetually they fell away from the faith probably because they lived by religion rather than a relationship with Christ. I cannot say for sure though. I just pray that the Jonas Brothers become truly dedicated servants of their Savior and through that refine their craft. We’ll see.

      God Bless ~Amy

After exhausting all of my mental facilities, okay not really, to write the previous post on judgment, I decided to explore one of my favorite topics, the media! Having been in writing whether in for fun or as an amateur journalist, I have probably taken myself more seriously than I should, so I feel that I have the proper credentials to rag on critics. Considering I just discussed judgmental attitudes, this is not about judging or pointing fingers, but rather hoping that I am not becoming what I disdain…

I noticed myself lately talking exactly like a critic, and maybe it comes from writing reviews for Amazon.com so long… Critics tend to talk, often it seems about how morals are subjective and all that really matters are the expression of art are feelings. No, we do not usually say morals are subjective, but we often mean it in the way we word things. I feel this may be the reason that the common man does not universally enjoy independent films. I enjoy independent films as long as they are not filled with sex (which they usually are).

One of my close friends and I often get into arguments about why a movie is bad are not. I usually try to take an objective view as a critic which means setting aside usual moral boundaries, unless you are me. Still, I realized after watching th movie “Wanted”, which had a copious amount of profanity, I had become desensitized because the profanity did not bug me at all. I saw myself, while my three friends universally panned the movie, making remarks that only a critic would. At the risk of giving away a plot point, I will use an example; when I told one of my friends that Wesley killing the man who he thought killed his father afte he just saved his life was believable because he really wasn’t thinking straight, he thought I was nuts. I even began to wonder if I was nuts… Most people would not do such a thing, but his reasoning that the nature of man would not do that, is not necassarily true. Which is probably where the critic in me comes in.

Man, being inherently evil (as stated by the Bible), cannot possibly make a good decision without God, and if a man goes far enough into enough he will, which is the case with serial killers, turn good will against people. Is it a normal human tendency? No, but when the will of man is perverted, he is capable of a great deal of evil actions. I may not agree with an action, but I can understand it, which in turn can make me appreciate movies or music that most people of my high standards would not, and probably should not.

What is so bad about being a critic? It is that critics hold to a principle that even after viewing movies with morally vacant films or movies about murder, you will still hold the same values over time and you can be separate from work and who you are. I may have a work hat, but I am still Amy while I am working, and if I compromise my values at work, I compromise them period.

I have nothing against critics, and I even understand their line of reasoning, but often-times they do not give some movies a fair chance because they are not “original”. Not everything needs to re-invent the wheel. Rather than trying to find the bad, why not find the good? That is probably why I rarely give below a five star review on Amazon, I always try to look on the bright side, but now I find myself getting more and more jaded. Maybe that just happens over time, maybe in some ways its good, maybe in some ways its bad?

Either way, I hope I do not lose my moral compass in my quest to give a fair evaluation to movies, music, and books…

God Bless ~Amy

Since I started my blog, my point was to cut past my own judgemental attitude and to go straight to the Bible and point others back to there as well.

I have been convicted a lot about judging others, and I am really seeking God to get rid of this attitude. It is so easy to look at others and say that we have the right to judge them or “expose” their sins. It is a lot harder to sit there, bite your tongue, and wait to see if God would have you speak at all. Pride always speaks first, and pride is the first to judge. Are we willing to, as Christians, set aside our pride and truly obey the word of the Lord to be known by our love for each other?

I recieved an e-mail today from a friend, a forwarded massage about judgement by Kathie Walters and this sums up everything I have been saying, and probably says more clearly than I did. I hope this edifies you like it did me, or at least convicts you.

      God Bless ~Amy

“I was sitting in a restaurant texting my daughter, Lisa. (I am home in Macon, Georgia) Suddenly the Lord said to me, ” 24 hours.”
Next my thoughts were invaded by people and sounds.
Judgments – the judgments that you make in your own heart (Jesus said) are going to come back to you. judgments are made out of pride and an ignorance of the understanding of the grace of God.
I will explain further on so please bear with me for a few minutes.
We are all kept by His grace alone. “We are kept by the power of God” the Bible says.
First of all man’s problem is not sin, it’s pride – all sin comes from pride. When we get out of the grace then we will fall into the first hole that we come to. Humility is knowing that it’s ALL God. We are saved, sanctified, KEPT by the grace of God.
WHEN GOD LIFTS HIS GRACE

When we lived in Orlando years ago we had Arthur Burt minister in our church one evening.
After the service we brought Arthur, some other friends, and another young English guy, Jeremy, back to our house for some supper.
As people sat around chatting, Jeremy interrupted Arthur and asked “Oh by the way, do you know Evangelist Stan Brown?” (Not his real name).

“Yes, as a matter of fact I do,” replied Arthur, and he continued his conversation with someone else.
Jeremy was excited. “When this man was in the UK and he had tent meetings and that’s where I got saved,” Jeremy said.
“Do you know where he is?” “Well, yes I do,” Arthur said, and turned away to resume his conversation. I thought Arthur was behaving a little weird.

“But Arthur, where is he (Stan)? I would love to contact him,” Jeremy said, now a little impatient. “If you must know brother, he is in jail.” Arthur again began to talk to someone else.

By this time poor Jeremy was losing it.
“What do mean, in jail? Why is he in jail?’ A bewildered Jeremy was in shock.
“Well brother, if you must know. “He is in jail for child pornography,”
Arthur looked at Jeremy now.

Jeremy couldn’t understand it at all and was speechless. “How could that happen?” Jeremy asked, “Brother Stan was so anointed, he led me to the Lord, and there were so many people saved and healed in his meetings.”

“Brother” Arthur said to Jeremy, “When a man gets into pride, God lifts His grace and then he falls into the first hole that he comes to.” Well we all got a revelation that night, but I have seen it happen again and again.” God resists the proud and gives His grace to humble.”

What do you do?
But what do you do? Do you make judgments about the one who has messed up? Better not, Jesus warned about that. ” The judgments you make will return to you again. Do you know that people who judge others often fall into the same sin eventually?
So what do you do? Do we all ignore the sins and failures? No of course not. What I am saying is that God will deal with things and His people – but He may not want to use YOU. In which case you have nothing to say. You want to throw stones? I would be careful about those stones,. They have a way from becoming a boomerang .
I said this last week – but read it again
I told this story last week- but I am telling it again because it’s very important that people understand about making judgment. Where are your judgments coming from? Are they personal judgments? Are the made according to what your ears hear and your eyes see? Jesus did not make judgements that way- neither should you. God will bring a word -and the word will do a work. But Gods’s word will come by the Sprit of God and God will use a vessel who is open and whose heart has compassion for the person involved.
One time years ago when David and I were traveling in America ( we lived in London at the time), we ministered in some house groups in the North Atlanta area.
On the Sunday we were due to speak at one of the larger house groups. We had not met this
particular house group leader before and so one of the other elders took us to the house on Saturday night to meet the pastor in charge of the Sunday group.

We went to this man’s house. Myself, David, and a girl who was traveling with us on that trip. Her name was Sue. When we knocked on the door a nice looking man answered. He welcomed us and I assumed he was the leader we were there to meet.
As he shook my hand and smiled at me- I saw a spirit of adultery in his eyes. It was not a hidden thing, it was bold. I must say that it shocked me. I could see from Sue’s face that she saw it too.

We went on into the living room and there were a number of people standing around and some sitting around, chatting. An old minister/friend from England was sitting there, talking to someone and seemed oblivious. I couldn’t understand it – surely if I could see this,
Arthur could see it. He had been in the ministry for 60 years.

I was trying to talk to Arthur with my eyes- WHY DON’T YOU DO SOMETHING?”Surely
if I can see this brazen spirit, you can too.”
Sue was trying to do the same thing to me. She was making weird faces at me across the room. Suddenly Arthur put down the Orange Juice he was holding and gave forth a very loud message in tongues. The whole room was silenced. After that he gave a message in English. It went something like this, “You have until this time tomorrow to uncover or be discovered by the Spirit of God.” Then he picked up his Orange juice and continued his conversation with the lady next to him.
Well when we got back to place we were staying I went immediately to my room. ‘Ok God what Was that all about?” God said to me ” I couldn’t use you Kathie because you already judged the man in your heart.” I realized that was true. When I saw the spirit of adultery – I was already making assessments and judgments. Not consciously but unconsciously. With most of
us, our minds are geared that way because` we haven’t been taught NOT to live in that realm, of sight and sound and feel.

Of course Arthur Burt has been around a very long time, he is not a dummy.
I am sure he SAW the spirit but he didn’t know it until God told him .

You see when God tells you
The word he gave did its own work. But Arthur was detached from it. The word came from God not from Arthur.
We had a great meeting in the morning but in the evening the leader took off with a lady in the church and never did come back.

So I learned some more about the spirit of false judgment and how it is rooted in pride. “He Has showed you Oh man what is good, and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly and to LOVE mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Don’t cut yourself off from people – there by the grace of God go I. Better to beware of the Pharisee Spirit – the Pharisees didn’t know they were sinners – that’s dangerous. They distorted grace and mercy of God and judged people by their own standards and out of their own hearts.
You know what – the wonderful and powerful acts of God in Lakeland and the disappointments that came from Todd’s personal failures have brought to light a lot of things that I believe God is looking at.
There are judgments that God has made – on the responses that have arisen out of people’s hearts.
I would be very careful about any judgments you make right now out of your own heart.
When I got that word tonight, “24 hours” I couldn’t finish my nice salad.
The noise and peoples faces who came crowding in on me were like clanging cymbals.
Get released
If you made a judgment about a church, ministry, or person ask God to release YOU and then you release them. People do dumb things sometimes. About every ministry I know has said something dumb from time to time. Well if you judged people by those things you SAW or HEARD, you will write everyone off. You would be the only one in church on Sunday, you and the cat ( and you would spoil it.)
King David
We don’t know people’s heart – King David committed adultery, then murdered Bethsheba’s husband. I would say that most of us would immediately disqualify him for the ministry – let alone kingship. But you know how God referred to David- ” A man after my own heart.” What?? You’re kidding aren’t you God?

Do you know why God said that about King David? Was it because he was doing so good “Pastoring the kingdom”? No it was because he was honest. When the Prophet Samuel came to confront him, Samuel told him a story about a man and his one sheep. Remember the story? There as a man who had many sheep, but he wanted the one sheep that other man had, so he killed him and took his sheep ( making reference to David taking the one beloved wife of his servant when he himself already had many wives).
You got me!
Do you know how David responded? He said “Oh ,I didn’t realize that she was actually married.” No, he didn’t did he? When Samuel said, “Thou art the man.” David said ” You got me.”
People made judgements about people without having any revelation of the heart.
Religious spirits always create false standards in the mind and then you make judgments according to the false standards out of your own heart.
If people have judged you when they didn’t understand where you were coming from and where your heart was at- pray it off or better still have someone else break it off – release people you have made judgements about – quicky.
God didn’t ask you – He didn’t ask your opinion about it – about anything. If He gives you a word that’s different. You can bring that word and offer it. But you are just the mail man- not the judge and jury. You had better bring it with humility knowing that YOU are only kept by His grace.
You have the witness of the Spirit in YOU. Why does the Bible say “You have the anointing within you, and you don’t need anyone to teach you.?’ Does that mean we don’t need teachers- well of course not as God has appointed teachers – but you have to witness to the teaching. You can’t blame someone else because you didn’t listen to the witness in your spirit for yourself.
Anyway – I am excited to be going back to Australia and New Zealand and also going to a 6 country Danube cruise with my husband soon-
I am looking forward to coming to your area- I had a wonderful time in Spokane last week- end such neat hungry little duckies
Hope this helps you understand about judgments – be blessed
